Black Lives Matter protests erupted across the nation in 2014 after the grand juries in Ferguson, Mo., and Staten Island, N.Y., did not to indict the police officers involved in the killing of unarmed Black men Michael Brown and Eric Garner. Boston was not an exception. Communities from various neighborhoods united in the latter months of the year to demonstrate against institutionalized racism and police brutality.
